The Five Orders
The Five Orders of Magic have existed since ancient times. No one knows who discovered them, or how they came to be. Each one is the gateway to a different aspect of magic. Every person is born into one of the orders and nearly all are able to access the magic, if they are taught how.

The First Order: Elemental
Uses the power of the elements; fire, water, air, earth, and lightning. The most aggressive order, very useful for combat, but less practical in most other areas. The easiest to master

The Second Order: Arcane
Uses the power of life and energy to Purify, heal, animate, summon and bind. The most passive order, useful in a support role with limited combat applications. Slightly more difficult to master

The Third Order: Mental
Uses the power of the mind in telepathy, telekinesis, projection, prophecy and truth seeking. The most influential order, useful in places of secrecy and diplomacy yet still with a defensive combat ability. Difficult to master.

The Fourth Order: Chaos
Uses the power of chaos and destruction to change the natural order of things with matter, time and space manipulation, destabilization and disintegration. The most powerful order, useful for mass destruction, but also transportation. The most difficult to learn, but easiest to master

The Fifth Order: Spell
Uses the power of incantations, symbols and rituals to cast magic of all types. The most versatile order, useful for nearly everything, provided the caster has the necessary requirements. The easiest to learn but the hardest to master, since there is a different spell or ritual for each outcome.
