I'm hoping to start blogging more, so here I go. I haven't updated about my second book in The Sixth Order series, which I am like, 87.5% sure is going to be titled The Forsaken. I finished the first draft at the end of January, and now I'm hard at work on the second draft. It takes a long time, because I write my first draft on paper. Old fashioned, I know. But, I just find it works better for me. As of writing this, I am on Chapter 14 of 31, so not quite halfway, although I did skip a large chunk in the earlier chapters that I need to fill in. I know what needs to go there, I just haven't written that part yet for some reason.
This time around, I have two POV's: Levi and Cody. Also a third one, Farren, the bad guy, but much less often. The other two alternate with Farren's POV stuck in every once in a while. With two views, I was able to take the story in two directions that intertwine very much, but move along separate plot-lines. Also, we get to explore Cody more, learning about his rocky past with his family.
A year passed between Books 1 and 2, and Levi, Cody and the others are well on their way to becoming knights. Most of the story is set in Saken, which we saw last book. Some familiar faces return, including Ring, Snare and Rorien Stern, but there are also new characters introduced, some of which will be of great importance later in the series. (I'm looking at you, Kyner) The main plot revolves around Levi, Kana, Miri, Kinzo, and Evander paying their debt to Snare and Ring which they promised last book. Naturally, things go very wrong and they are forced to work with someone they don't trust. The end of the story will be a wild ride, with an ending that may make some people hate me, but I couldn't not do it. No apologies.
I'm hoping I can have the book ready for beta readers sometime in March and my goal is to have it published this summer. I hope you are all ready for more adventures, arguments and action.
